One of our core virtues is to leave the world better than we found it. That's why we use the most environmentally friendly packaging we can find that still keeps you (our fans!) safe, and our product frozen.

Why plastic pints?

Our pints are made from PET level 1 and 2 plastics which are the most widely recycled plastics in the world and are BPA and phthalate free.  These types of plastic are supported at 99% of North American households which means that when you put them into your blue bin, they will actually get processed at your local recycling depot, and repurposed. Other "paper" ice cream cartons are actually made of laminated fibre board and polyethylene plastic which are considered waste and end up in the landfill. 

Our transparent pint tubs also showcase our product so you know what's inside, and the screw top lid makes them perfect for reusing and up-cycling. Some favourite ways we've seen pints reused are as paint tubs, herb pots or makeup organizers!

We are exploring alternate packaging options with the hopes that one day we can sell our gelato in 100% compostable pints. Until that day comes, and we can guarantee your gelato will be as fresh as it is today, we’re committed to finding other ways to support our environment.

What about e-commerce? 

Packaging from our online orders are 100% recyclable and compostable. Your pints are packed in an insulated liner made from all natural fibres and shipped in a 100% recyclable paperboard box, made from unbleached pulp. Upon unpacking your treats, you can even repurpose the liner as a microgreen bed or weed suppressant in your garden rather than tossing it into the organics bin!
